What is this?

This is the work blog of Pete Ashton in his capacity as an online communications consultant, though it's often about more than that. If it's to do with people talking online and it interests me it'll be covered here.

If you're interested in working with me get in touch.

Digital Britain liveblog

This morning sees me at the A Digital Britain for Birmingham event at the ICC where Lord Carter will be chatting about his new book Digital Britain: Final Report. It’s a thriller and a half and I hope he’ll be reading extracts before doing a Q&A.

Here’s the schedule for the day (PDF). It looks like the meat will be from 11:05 to 12:15.

I’m going to be in the audience and suspect I’ll be prompted to rant and rave. In anticipation of this I’ve set up a Coveritlive thingy to dump my knee-jerk reactions into. After all, why publish in a state of calm reflection when you can publish NOW!

This will scroll automatically as I type stuff. Once it’s over I’ll either leave it here, copy the text into the blog or delete it all, depending on how it works out.
