Sunday Social Media Surgery?

I’ve been getting a few inquiries from people who can’t make the Thursday 4-6pm Social Media Surgery because they have these annoying things called “full time jobs”. That’s fair enough but while I’m happy to hang around a bit later I’m not able to guarantee a weekly spot outside of normal working hours.

I’d also like to get more people-like-me involved in this, and many of them are my friends who I like to meet up with anyway, so why not get a really big stone and kill a load of birds with it?

Here’s the idea:

Get a venue – a cafe or pub or something with wifi. Kitchen Garden Cafe in Kings Heath or Coffee Lounge on Navigation St might work. It’d have to be free as no-one’s charging or getting paid for this.

Arrange a date and time. I’m thinking a Sunday afternoon from 2pm.

Get a core group of “experts” to come. If no-one else turns up we can have a nice chat. If loads come we can spread the load.

Spread the word.

Sunday 28th is good for me. Anyone interested?

Good idea. It is in my diary.

  2. As one of those unlucky people with a full time job, and in desperate need of some ‘expert’ tlc on my social media front, I can say with relative certainty I’d turn up for this.

  3. Sounds great. What makes someone an “expert” – ie what sort of questions do you get in your Thursday surgery?

  4. Jon Bounds says:

Sounds good. It’s now in my Google Calendar.

  5. Sounds like a good idea to me, Pete.

If I’m around that day I’ll pop in armed with questions and (attempt to) help with some answers.
